Moving a group around Naxos is not the same as moving an individual. The island has a limited taxi fleet, no Uber, and public buses that run on their own schedule โ not yours. Whether it is thirty wedding guests arriving at different times from JNX, a corporate team needing coordinated pickups from the port, or a family of twelve staying at a villa outside Chora, the logistics require planning that most people underestimate until they are standing at the port wondering where their vehicles are. This is how we handle it.

Why group transport on Naxos requires planning
Naxos has approximately 30 taxis for an island that receives tens of thousands of visitors in peak summer. There is no Uber, no Bolt, and no ride-hailing equivalent. The public KTEL buses run to a fixed schedule and do not accommodate groups with luggage, multiple pick-up points, or evening returns after midnight.
For a solo traveller this is manageable โ the bus is reliable for the main beach corridor and the taxis are usually findable in Chora. For a group of twenty, thirty, or more people arriving at JNX at the same time, the situation is fundamentally different. Those thirty taxis are already serving the rest of the island. A wedding party or corporate group that has not pre-arranged its transport will be standing at the port or airport scrambling for vehicles that do not exist.
The narrowness of Naxos's inland roads adds another dimension. The routes to clifftop venues, mountain-village tavernas, and remote villas require drivers who know the roads โ which turn to take, where the road narrows, which track leads to a dead end. Guests following Google Maps in rental cars to a wedding venue at dusk on a dirt road above Apiranthos is a situation worth avoiding.
When to book for summer events: Secure your vehicles at least 3โ6 months in advance for July and August events. Peak wedding weekends fill up quickly. For September and shoulder-season events, 4โ8 weeks is usually sufficient. Contact us as early as possible and we will hold your dates while details are confirmed.
Which vehicle for which group
We operate three vehicles in a coordinated fleet. For groups above twelve, we run multiple vehicles in sequence โ timed to depart together or in staggered waves depending on what the event requires.
Jeep Renegade
Up to 3 passengers ยท 3 suitcases
- Bridal couple or VIP transfers
- Small VIP sub-groups within a larger event
- Advance party or coordinator transport
- Intimate family groupings
Airport transfer from โฌ20
Mercedes Vito
Up to 8 passengers ยท 8 suitcases
- Family groups of 4โ8
- One vehicle for a smaller event
- Combined passenger and luggage runs
- Multi-stop hotel collection routes
Airport transfer from โฌ35
Mercedes Sprinter
Up to 12 passengers ยท 12 suitcases
- Core group shuttle for events up to 12
- Lead vehicle in a multi-vehicle convoy
- Hotel-to-venue ceremony transfers
- End-of-night returns for larger groups
Airport transfer from โฌ50
For events requiring transport for more than 12 people, we coordinate multiple vehicles running in the right sequence. A wedding with 40 guests might use two Sprinters and a Vito operating in a timed rotation. We plan the vehicle schedule around your event timeline โ not the other way around.
Tell us your group size and dates. We'll handle the rest.
Destination weddings โ the four critical moments
Naxos has become one of the most sought-after destination wedding locations in the Aegean โ clifftop venues, whitewashed chapels, golden coastlines, and a scale that feels intimate rather than industrial. Behind every beautiful ceremony is a transport schedule that either runs invisibly or creates exactly the kind of stress you are trying to avoid.
A typical Naxos destination wedding involves four distinct transport moments, each with its own requirements:
Guest arrivals โ staggered over 1โ3 days
Destination wedding guests typically arrive across multiple days on different flights and ferries. We monitor each arrival โ tracking JNX flights and Piraeus ferries in real time โ and ensure every guest has a vehicle waiting regardless of delays. We can coordinate collection from both JNX airport and Naxos port on the same day and route guests to their hotels across the island. No guest should arrive and find nothing there.
The ceremony transfer โ precision timing
Moving guests from scattered hotels to a venue on time is the most logistically complex moment of any destination wedding. We plan the collection route, sequence, and timing in advance โ building in the right buffers for Naxos road conditions and the reality that some guests will not be ready on time. Multiple vehicles running in a timed rotation ensure the venue fills in the right order without a bottleneck at the first hotel.
Venue to after-party โ keeping the energy moving
Many Naxos weddings move from the ceremony venue to a secondary location for the reception or after-party. We coordinate the transition seamlessly โ guests step out of the ceremony into waiting vehicles, and the convoy moves together. No one is left standing on a clifftop road wondering what comes next.
The return โ the detail most people forget
Late-night returns are the moment that catches unprepared couples out. The island's taxis are long gone by midnight, and guests at a clifftop venue 30 minutes from Chora have no practical alternative to a pre-arranged vehicle. The return schedule is built into the event plan from the start โ not added as an afterthought. If your date isn't showing availability online, message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm directly.
A note on venue access: Several of Naxos's most popular wedding venues are reached via narrow roads that deteriorate at the final approach. Guests in rental cars, following GPS in the dark, on roads designed for agricultural vehicles, is a common problem. Our drivers know every access route on the island. We also carry the right contact numbers for venues in case access conditions change on the day.
Other events โ corporate, villa gatherings, family
Corporate retreats and incentive groups
Companies bringing teams to Naxos for a retreat, incentive trip, or conference have the same fundamental logistics problem as a wedding: a group arriving at different times needing coordinated transport between accommodation, venues, activity sites, and restaurants. The island's limited public transport and taxi fleet make independent navigation impractical for a group of any size.
We work with event coordinators to plan the transport schedule in advance โ airport and port pickup times, hotel-to-venue rotations, day-trip logistics, and end-of-evening returns. The same vehicle fleet, the same flight tracking, the same fixed pricing that removes billing surprises from an event budget.
Villa gatherings and private parties
A group renting a large villa near Plaka or in the Tragaea plateau for a week often needs regular transport to Chora for dinners, to the market, to the beach, and for day excursions across the island. Running a villa group efficiently on Naxos without a private transfer arrangement typically means a mix of rental cars, taxis that may or may not arrive, and the logistical friction of coordinating eight or twelve people without a central plan.
We can arrange standing daily transfers for the duration of a villa stay โ fixed schedule, fixed price per day, or on-demand WhatsApp booking. Contact us and we will agree a structure that works for your group.
Large family arrivals
Extended families โ three generations, cousins from different countries, arriving on different flights โ are one of the most common group transfer scenarios on Naxos. A family of sixteen arriving across three different ferries on the same day, going to two different hotels, needs organisation that the taxi rank at JNX simply cannot provide.
We handle the coordination: tracking each arrival, sequencing the vehicles, and ensuring every family member ends up at the right accommodation with their luggage. Jeep for grandparents who land first, Sprinter for the main group on the afternoon ferry, Vito for the late arrivals. One point of contact managing all of it.
How to plan and book your group transport
Group transport bookings work differently from a standard airport transfer. The process is more collaborative โ we need to understand your event structure before we can confirm vehicles and pricing.
Send us your event details
Message us on WhatsApp (+30 6988 716942) or by email with your event date, guest count, arrival/departure schedule, venue location, and any special requirements. The more detail you give us upfront, the faster we can put a transport plan together.
We prepare a transport proposal
We will send you a transport plan with vehicle allocation, timing schedule, and fixed pricing for each leg. No vague estimates โ a clear document you can include in your event budget and share with other coordinators.
Confirm and secure your dates
Once you are happy with the plan, a deposit secures your dates. Summer weekends book out well in advance โ we hold vehicles against a confirmed booking, not a tentative one.
Final coordination before the event
In the week before your event we confirm all flight and ferry details, adjust the schedule if anything has changed, and share the transport plan with your guests. On the day, real-time communication via WhatsApp keeps everything moving.
Practical details โ luggage, timing, cancellation
- Luggage All luggage is included โ no per-bag charges. The Sprinter accommodates up to 12 standard suitcases. For events with significant luggage (destination weddings with dress bags, sports equipment, etc.) let us know in advance and we will allocate accordingly.
- Child seats Available on request at no extra charge. Please specify the age and weight of children when booking so we fit the correct seat. Infant carriers and forward-facing seats both available.
- Flight tracking We monitor all Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air flights into JNX and all Blue Star and Seajets arrivals at Naxos port in real time. If a guest's connection is delayed, we know before they do and adjust the vehicle schedule accordingly.
- Cancellation Free cancellation up to 48 hours before a confirmed transfer. For multi-vehicle event bookings, cancellation terms are agreed at the time of booking and included in your transport proposal.
- Payment All major credit and debit cards accepted. Group event bookings typically involve a deposit to secure the dates with the balance settled before the event. Full payment in advance is required for the event day vehicles.
- Late-night transfers Late-night event returns are part of the service โ not an extra to negotiate on the day. If your preferred slot isn't available online, message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm availability directly.
- Loyalty programme Couples and event organisers who book multiple transfers benefit from our loyalty tiers โ discounts from 5% up to 40% that apply to every booking under the same account. Use code IN5 for 5% off your first booking.
